The Aurora Grill ran from 1998 through 2000 in Lewes DE as an early farm to table prototype. Lewes had the largest year round population of the popular Delmarva Beach region and was most suitable for a year round diner. Other traffic anchors included Beebe Hospital and Second Street shops.
The original façade was badly worn, did not showcase the food concept well and lacked handicap access into the facility. Due to the seasonal nature of the business, the restaurant never closed during the three week build. Collaborating with the landlords and area architects, the new, upscale look significantly improved curb appeal and allowed the restaurant’s ambitious menu to shine. Working with the City of Lewes allowed the addition of an ADA compliant handicap ramp to increase access.
Scope of work: Permitting, building easement, construction management.
